What to expect on a Line Break Shoot
For Master Gardeners
We’re excited to come film with you at your garden!
We also want you to feel as prepared as possible, so we’ve got some pointers on what sets our shoots up for success.
NOTE: We are interviewing one Master Gardener per shoot!
Usually, we can make whatever you’ is wearing work. But for absolutely best practices, here’s what we recommend to consider:
Avoid dangly bracelets/ jewelry that has the potential to get noisy when moving your hands or body
Remember to take off your sunglasses when we start rolling. Sunglasses will show a reflection of the camera/crew that are hard to remove/work around, however we can make standard optical eye-glasses work!
What to Wear
Set-up
A crew of 2 people will arrive on your shoot, Pat who will be the director of photography, and Nadia, who will asking you questions
We’ll have a set of questions that’ll take about 15-20 minutes to get through, and we’ll always ask if you would like to share anything that we may have missed near the end of the interview!
During the Interview
You’ll be reminded of this before we start recording, but during the interview, Nadia’s questions will not be included in the final video, so remember to include a part of the interview question in your response. For example, if we’re asking:
“Say your name, and the county you’re from”
you would respond with
“My name is Sarah and I’m from Cass County”
Instead of just
“Sarah, Cass County”
Also, no need to worry about looking into the camera lens while giving your response. We want you to keep eye-contact with our interviewer and for your response to be as conversational as possible!
B Roll
After the interview, we’ll take down part of the interview set-up, and start filming your garden! This is where we are gathering our B Roll shots, which will have no audio and will only be focusing on the visual component of your garden and how you interact with it!
That’s a Wrap!
After interviews and getting footage of you and your garden, we’ll be all wrapped up! Thank you in advance for allowing us into your gardens and we look forward to seeing you on your shoot day!
